moon orbseesions

I find the moon fascinating.  Does the face turn upside down as it moves across the night sky?  Three of my published  poems in my book Ordinary Words focus on the moon…Mooniverse, a bit of whimsy dealing with finding true love, Half Moon, which deals with betrayal that only the moon can see, and Tales of the Blue Moon, which deals with empty loneliness that exemplifies that single orb going through its phases.  And yes, I like playing around with odd spellings such as ‘orbseesions’  to gain a different perspective♫♪ Hope you check out my tunes @ http://lkazmierczak.biz/songs.  My daughter does the vocals on Mooniverse.

Bowling Ball Blues

In honor of husband John’s first 300 game of bowling!  (March 15 2012) I did a quick arrangement of a fun echo-type song…

I’ve got the bowling ball blues.

(I’ve got the bowling ball blues.)

I just cannot get a strike.

(I just cannot get a strike.)

I bought these white leather shoes.

(I bought these white leather shoes.)

I paid a mighty fine price.

(I paid a mighty fine price.)

Refrain:

Come on now, roll like thunder,

Drop those pins asunder.

Cure my bowling ball blues

(Bowling ball blues)

I’ve got the bowling ball blues.

(I’ve got the bowling ball blues.)

Now all I want is a spare.

(Now all I want is a spare.)

But all I get is bad news.

(But all I get is bad news.)

I’m always off by a hair.

(I’m always off by a hair.)

Refrain

I’ve got the bowling ball blues.

(I’ve got the bowling ball blues.)

I gotta mark one more time.

(I gotta mark one more time.)

I cannot let my team lose.

(I cannot let my team lose.)

I finally found a good line.

(I finally found a good line.)

Refrain

Time Change

Totally misread directions to tune into a webinar for new writers.  My confirmation e-mail informed me to tune in 1:30-2:30 EST and my brain saw it as 1:30 MY time, 2:30 EST so of course I missed it when I tuned in an hour late.
So I took a walk instead.  I’m thinking the time change this week-end seems early.  I’m not ready to give up that extra hour of sleep.  So this has me thinking, as I’m walking, about Time when Christ’s Kingdom is active on earth.  I just don’t think there will be time changes in this future Kingdom.  But there will have to be time zones, unless His Kingdom covers a very small area of the world.  I think the world will shift enough (be restored?) to accommodate very little seasonal changes.  I doubt that we’ll even have leap years.  I’m thinking that there will be physical changes in the earth’s orbit to even out the weather patterns, keep the temperature in a nice range worldwide, and address the pollution that’s been accumulating throughout mankind’s history.  Just something to think about as you set your clocks♫♪

Paper Airplanes

This mild weather has me pulling out an older song lyric….just uploaded the instrumental.  Hope it evokes a laid back type of attitude♫♪
Paper Airplanes
~
Paper airplanes
on a sun dog day.
Hawk is soaring
in his slow, lazy way.
The sons of mothers are growing tall.
Time can deceive us all.
We live our lives like a paper plane,
gliding past each squall.
~
It’s paper dollies
That marks a rain dandy bow.
Sky still rumbles
as the sun crafts a show.
The dads with daughters will wipe a tear.
Smiles speak so loud and clear.
This slice of life we all hold so dear
Could crumple paper dolls.
~
Time we noticed shadows chasing all our sundial arms.
Time slips past to defy all of our charms.
Yes, time is passing,
Despite all of our charms.

10 Shades of white

Martha Stewart inspired me♫♪

I have counted ten shades of white I’ll have you know.

But there’s only the one true blue love.

You may find there’s more than the ten that I adore.

But don’t paint me all wrong about true love.

Blue love.

Eggshell and there’s diamond, then there’s starlight and vanilla.

Add on linen and there’s moon glow, then there’s ecru and the oyster and pearl so white.

And there’s snow.

You have been my true love since I laid eyes on you.

But you always see things out of focus.

Clearly I must find how to open up your mind

So that you don’t just see me as shadow.

An echo.

Ten shades you can choose from but all you see is the pure white, so white

But for my eyes I see all shades that can fashion into passion.

Cause there’s

Eggshell and there’s diamond, then there’s starlight and vanilla.

Add on linen and there’s moon glow, then there’s ecru and the oyster and pearl so white.

And there’s snow…

Shades of white recall

An old fashioned type love.

And I’ve fallen for you

Ever softly like snow

O come enter and prove

You are old fashioned too

Say that you do approve

Of my choices of white

Eggshell and there’s diamond, then there’s starlight and vanilla.

Add on linen and there’s moon glow, then there’s ecru and the oyster and pearl so white.

And there’s snow….My love is aglow.
